At OUP, we recently celebrated Learning at Work week, which focused on the theme of ‘connection’ for a variety of global events, initiatives, and competitions for everyone to get involved in. In this article, we’ve brought together four key learnings from across the week. The 28th annual Oxford Literary Festival saw hundreds of writers and readers attend events held across the city’s colleges, libraries, bookshops, and theatre, with several of our authors making an appearance and sharing fascinating insights on topics and issues reflected in their books, such as AI, philosophy, and corruption. One of the questions that lexicographers often get asked is how they decide which words to add to the dictionary. This is an important question, as the identification and assessment of new words is a crucial part of the lexicographic process.
