The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner supports the Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, Clive Grunshaw who was elected in May 2024 for his third term in Office. The role of the Commissioner is to be the public's voice in policing and to hold the Chief Constable of Lancashire Constabulary to account for delivering and efficient and effective policing service for Lancashire. The Commissioner sets the Police and Crime Plan for the county which outlines strategic priorities for the force. He also sets the budget for the Constabulary and is responsible for commissioning services to support victims of crime across Lancashire. The Commissioner’s Office supports the Commissioner in the delivery of his Police and Crime Plan, launching next month, and is made up of experts in areas such as governance, policy, finance, communications, and business administration.
