About

The Division of Medical Image Computing (MIC) uses machine learning to improve cancer patient care by analyzing imaging information from various technologies. As co-coordinator of Helmholtz Imaging (HI), we focus on semantic segmentation, object detection, and probabilistic modeling. Our research software system and infrastructure support national and international clinical research networks. We translate machine learning advances into clinical applications to advance healthcare. We prioritize techniques that improve data science in clinical settings for more interpretable decision-making, data uncertainty handling, and algorithm generalizability. We promote open science and maintain open source projects to share our advances. #medicalimaging #machinelearning #healthcare
