IHI UAE Co. Ltd. was established on 7 March 1978 as a joint venture between Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (IHI), Japan, and United Trading and Services Co., UAE, to execute local works for IHI’s awarded plant projects across the UAE and GCC. From its inception, the company has played a key role in the execution of EPC, construction, logistics, site works, and local fabrication for major infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects. With strong technical backing from IHI, IHI UAE contributed to landmark developments across desalination, power generation, LNG, cement, and water infrastructure in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider Gulf region. Since 1987, following a change in shareholding, IHI UAE has operated independently, successfully delivering construction and EPC contracts across power plants, turbine and boiler systems, fire-fighting systems, rehabilitation works, and specialised industrial installations for leading regional clients. Today, IHI UAE operates at the intersection of heavy industry, oil & gas, advanced engineering, and technology, supporting critical social and industrial infrastructure where durability, safety, and performance are paramount. Its capabilities are underpinned by advanced industrial technologies, including Kawasaki Compressors for oil and gas applications, Kawasaki Robotics for industrial automation, and Daikin for specialised coating and surface engineering, which IHI UAE represents in the UAE.
