Asia is home to over a third of the world's total hydropower generation, with China having the planet’s largest hydropower plant. However, it’s in the last couple of decades that Asia’s hydropower potential is truly being unleashed. With rapid urbanization and industrialization, the Asia and Pacific region has been on a trajectory of rapidly rising energy demand. With more than 50% of hydropower potential untapped, this decade would see the rise of Asia as one of the biggest contributors to global net capacity. This platform would accentuate the incredible innovations in the Hydropower sector based out of Asia while also providing a voice to the local experts at international platforms. This decade is not only transformational for the technology we are committed to but also to credit the lesser-heard communities with equal respect and opportunities.
