Hospitals and Health Care · Gelderland
Through research and education, we inform and shape policy on critical challenges in the sustainability of health care systems. We work toward health systems that are legitimate, sustainable, and evidence informed, enabling societies to make accountable decisions about the design, financing, and use of healthcare. We share a commitment to strengthening decision making processes, generating robust evidence, and building the capacity of current and future professionals to navigate the complex challenges facing health systems worldwide. We believe that this requires a combination of quantitative analysis and deliberative approaches that engage stakeholders and integrate societal values. Our collective ambition is to be a leading international hub for priority setting, health system sustainability, and value based innovation, grounded in methodological rigor and real world collaboration with decision-makers. In our group, we focus on three related domains: • Within the field of healthcare affordability, we develop insights to address future challenges, with particular attention to efficiency in long-term care, workforce pressures and effective public budgeting. • Our work in (early) Health Technology Assessment (HTA) focuses on developing and applying methodologies to evaluate the (potential) value of healthcare innovations from early stages of development. • In the area of global health priorities, we support countries and organisations in making explicit and fair healthcare decisions through participatory decision-making processes, both internationally and in the Netherlands.
