About HANDS in Autism® HANDS in Autism® is an interdisciplinary training and resource center housed within the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at Indiana University Bloomington. Our mission is to empower individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities by strengthening the systems that support them. Through evidence-based training, technical assistance, research-informed practices, and community collaboration, HANDS in Autism® works alongside families, educators, healthcare providers, justice professionals, and community partners to promote meaningful outcomes across school, work, and community settings. We are committed to bridging research and practice — ensuring that knowledge translates into real-world impact. By fostering collaboration, advancing inclusive practices, and building professional capacity statewide and beyond, HANDS in Autism® continues to lead efforts that promote independence, opportunity, and quality of life for individuals with autism and their families.
