About

GFE was founded in 2005 by blood donation services of the German Red Cross and quickly developed into a leading company for virus detection using nucleic acid amplification technology (NAT) in blood donations in Germany. The founders of GFE are recognized experts in blood donation diagnostics and were heavily involved in cutting-edge research. They were instrumental in developing the techniques and procedures that led to the establishment of NAT testing as a routine method for blood donor screening in Germany in the 1990s. Today, GFE offers CE-IVD labeled NAT testing solutions for all transfusion-relevant viruses, featuring state-of-the-art technologies, such as multi-dye and multi-target assays, and excellent sensitivity, specificity and robustness to target mutations.
