gaiac is a research institute (registered association), founded in 2003 as a legally independent spin-off from the Institute for Environmental Research at RWTH Aachen University, Germany (so-called “An-Institut”). Additionally, in 2025 the gaiac eco assessment GmbH (limited company) was launched. The gaiac team consists of currently 34 strongly committed employees, mostly biologists, supported by biological technical assistants and team assistants. We are pleased to be your partner for applied research and risk assessment in the fields of ecotoxicology and ecology. Our range of services is aimed at the public sector, industry, as well as planning offices and water associations.
