ecoBaseline helps EU hotels, restaurants, cafés, catering businesses, and event venues prepare for the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which applies from 12 August 2026. The regulation covers far more than swapping plastic items for paper. It includes packaging design requirements, recyclability grades, mandatory recycled content thresholds, extended producer responsibility fees, Declaration of Conformity obligations, the bring your own container obligation in HORECA from 12 February 2027, the active reuse offer from 12 February 2028, and the single use plastic format bans from 1 January 2030. Most operators do not yet know which of their current packaging items become non compliant under PPWR, what documentation they need on file from each producer, or which compliant alternatives exist for each line. We do two things. First, a written PPWR compliance assessment. Free for single site operators. Paid from €300 for multi site operators, scaled by location count. Each assessment maps every packaging item against the regulation, lists the documentation gaps to close, and gives a sourcing plan for compliant alternatives. Second, ongoing supply of compliant packaging shipped directly to your venues from vetted EU and UK suppliers.
