Welcome at the Cardiovascular Physiology and Exercise research group LinkedIn page! This research group is affiliated to the Radboud University Medical Center (Radboudumc) in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Prof. dr. Dick Thijssen chairs this group of over ten postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates. Our research focuses on the field of cardiovascular physiology and physical (in)activity. The work strongly focuses on understanding the impact of exercise training and physical activity on reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Research topics include cardiac rehabilitation, carotid artery reactivity, cardiac strain-volume analysis, arterial stiffness and the effects of physical (in)activity on cardiovascular health.
