You get to work with scientists who are top experts in their field. But we also understand that there is a life outside CWI. That's why we offer flexible scheduling of working hours and the possibility to work part-time from home. On top of that, we offer a generous amount of holidays up to 42 days a year. CWI-employees can join free yoga and mindfulness classes. And outside office hours you have plenty of opportunities to get to know your colleagues! We value research freedom and autonomy, while supporting young researchers through mentorship and career development. Via our tenure track system we offer career perspectives to young talented scientists. PhD students get training opportunities like time management and communication skills, English and Dutch. Besides that, we provide guidance on personal grant proposals, coaching and academic leadership. Additionally, we support researchers interested in starting a spin-off company. Diversity promotes creativity, which stimulates breakthroughs in scientific research. Thus, we use every hiring opportunity to increase the diversity at our institute. We have workflows and procedures to ensure diversity and inclusion are effectively addressed during the selection of scientific and support staff. In 2021 we started a diversity action plan for the whole institute. This will contribute to the recognition of all talent.
